Our Garden!

I know I haven't been around much lately but I have been really sick. :( I've been doing a lot of sleeping and eating bananas and rice. Thankfully I am starting to feel better now! yay! So, it's officially SPRING! That means it's time to plant your garden if you haven't already. Last year we planted everything in the ground. Even though stuff still grew, it was kind of a pain because we don't have the best soil here. This year we opted for a potted garden. I am so excited about all of our plants and I love going to check them out everyday and see what is growing.

Here is all of our plants. Penelope likes to help too. :)
We planted some herbs as you can see (except for the peppers). I love having fresh herbs at the house to use whenever we need. It's so convenient and fresh!

We have quit a few tomato plants but this big one already has 3 babies on it! I love having lots of tomatoes so we can make our own tomato sauce.
And last but certainly not least, my favorite, Strawberries!! Have you ever seen a strawberry plant with pink flowers? It's so pretty! And all of the strawberry plants already have lots of baby strawberries! I can't wait to eat these!!!
Not pictured is a couple cucumber plants. Nothing blooming quit yet.

Have you guys planted a garden? What are your favorite things to grow at home?

And for your entertainment, here is a St. Paddies video of yours truly doing a pretty awesome jig. I had to volunteer strangers to dance with me...

  2. Well how exciting! We love planting a garden and do everything from corn to peppers, tomatos, watermelon, peas, etc. We're supposed to work on it this weekend. Fingers crossed, I hope! Hopping over from Life Rearranged. :)

    1. We did watermelon last year. They grew like crazy but never got really big! I blame it on the crappy soil. ;)

  3. OMG awesome video! lol I love it!

And that garden of yours!! Oh I love gardening! We planted ours on a wonderfully sunny day a few weeks ago and 2 days later it rained. And rained. And rained. Then snowed. Then rained... I'm pretty sure we're going to have to redo the whole thing. lol

But I love the variety of yours. Herbs grow like weeds for me, do they for you, too?? (wish everything else grew like herbs do!)

    1. oh no!!! haha that's no good! We planted ours a couple weeks ago too, but luckily living in Florida snow isn't something I have to be concerned about. And Yes! All the herbs grow like crazzzzy. Although right now it looks like the tomatoes and strawberries are kind of doing the same thing.

  4. I live in an apartment so I don't have a lot of space, but we do have three pots on our balcony for stuff. Last year we grew mint, basil and rosemary. The basil was tough, but the others grew very well! :D

    1. I think I prefer growing in pots now. But that's so weird about the basil. Ours seems to grow like a weed! I love the way mint smells! I might plant some now that you mention it.

    2. You live in Florida, right? I think that's probably why. Basil likes heat :) I live in Alberta, Canada. Our growing season is very short and it gets very cold here. Even summer nights can be chilly! :O

  5. E mentioned we should plant a garden today - I was shocked since both of us tend to kill every plant we are given. I think we are going to go the herb route this summer since we don't have much space on our porch.

    1. Good plan! I think herbs are the hardest thing to kill. ;) but trust me, if it wasn't for my husband I would probably kill everything too.
