Death by Pizza & Orlando Philharmonic

I want to thank the lovely Jenn @ Peas & Crayons for hosting this weekly party! Linking up with WIAW is one of my fav parts of the week. So go over there and check out all the fun!

In honor of Jenn celebrating veggies, I'm gunna answer an couple of her questions. My favorite veggie right now is Brussels sprouts. I can't get enough of them lately. But I would say cauliflower is a close second mainly because I find so many different ways to use it. My fav way is to use it as a rice substitute. Cauliflower is kind of awesome. I always make a big effort to eat plenty of veggies everyday. If I don't really know what I want, like tonight, I just grab a bunch of random veggies I have on hand, throw them in a pan and it always turns out yummy! You really can't go wrong with vegetables.

After saying all that, there really weren't any veggies in this wiaw...other than potatoes, tomato sauce (does that count?) and mushrooms, which are technically a fungus. What can I say, I was on vacation.

This was our last full day in Orlando. So sad. :( But it was a great day! I only ate two meals. Matt had an earlier rehearsal so we stopped at Ihop for breakfast.

Breakfast: hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage.
Ahhh! Splash Mountain! One of my favorite rides at Disney. We don't ever buy these pictures because they are waaaay over priced. Instead, Matt takes pictures of the picture on the screen. ;) hehe.

Oh goodness. So this is what happened... According to Matt, he has been dying to go to Giordano's for a YEAR. If you don't know what Giordono's is, it's that famous deep dish Chicago style pizza. I believe they only have them in Illinois and Florida. Anyway! The last thing I wanted to do was eat any wheat. But I finally gave in and we went.

wine: it was happy hour :)
Worst idea ever!!! blah. I'm not gunna lie, it tasted good, but I was sick for the next 24 hours after eating this one slice. Learned my lesson! Matt obviously ate the rest.

Death by Pizza
So the real reason we even went to Disney was for Matt to play with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. The show was Saturday night and it was so incredible! Sold out, over 2,500 people there to watch my hubby play! Ok... so not just him. ;) Regardless, it was one of my favorite shows I've been to. They played Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 “Pastorale”  & Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring.

  2. I took pictures of our ride photos when I was there in January! I never had before but some were just hilarious :). And I totally know the feeling you're describing with the wheat... I started avoiding it because I was feeling a little bloatey all the time, but then I tried it again a few weeks after giving it up and felt awful! Way worse than I ever did before when I was eating it all the time... must be the conditioning of it. You should try the pizza crust recipe I linked to for the dinner in my WIAW post - the best pizza crust ever and it's paleo!

  9. Congratulations to your hubbie! I love Disney hard-core! :P Pizza makes me sick, so I don't eat it - but it's not the gluten, it's the cheese for me. Whatever - roasted brussel sprouts are what it's all about!
